"At the root of the West's bankruptcy is a cultural and identity crisis. The West no longer knows who it is, because it no longer knows or wants to know what has set it up, what has constituted it as it has been, and as it is. Today many countries ignore their history. This self-asphyxiation naturally leads to a decline that opens the way to new barbaric civilizations."

This statement by Cardinal Robert Sarah sums up the purpose of the third book of interviews with Nicolas Diat, the profound spiritual, moral and political crisis of the contemporary world: crisis of faith and the Church, decline of the West, betrayal of its elites, moral relativism, boundless globalization, rampant capitalism, new ideologies, political exhaustion, among others. After becoming aware of the gravity of the crisis, the cardinal proposes the means to avoid the hell of a world without God, without man and without hope.

The way of man's life must experience the elevation of the soul to spread it around him and leave in inheritance a creature more exalted than he was when he enters this world: with the certainty of doing what is within our reach, which is what God who is always very close to us asks us.

Robert Sarah was born in Guinea in 1945. A priest since 1969, in 1979 he was appointed Archbishop of Conakri, aged 34. In 2001 John Paul II called him to the Roman Curia, where he held successively two senior positions. Benedict XVI created him Cardinal in 2010, and in 2014 Pope Francis appointed him Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments.

Nicolas Diat is a French journalist and author.
